Why switch to LED lighting?
2011-8-19Incandescent light bulbs are immensely wasteful, expending over 90 percent of the energy flowing through them as heat. Although fluorescent tubes/bulbs are more efficient their harsh light output and flicker has prevented them from being a winning solution in the lighting market.
The answer is LEDs, they are long-lasting, rugged and many times more efficient than incandescent bulbs. They can be up to ten times more energy efficient than current incandescent lights. They remain close to room temperature, which can cut down energy use even further by reducing the need for air-conditioning to counteract the heat given from incandescent lights.
